About ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency), Arwal
Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) एक स्वायत्त संस्था है जिसे कृषि विस्तार सेवाओं (Agricultural Extension Services) को मजबूत और आधुनिक बनाने के उद्देश्य से स्थापित किया गया है। भारत सरकार की National Agriculture Policy के तहत कृषि क्षेत्र में सुधारों की आवश्यकता को देखते हुए ATMA मॉडल की शुरुआत की गई थी।
भारत में Extension Reforms को सबसे पहले World Bank द्वारा वित्तपोषित National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP) के अंतर्गत वर्ष 1998 से 2005 तक 7 राज्यों के 28 जिलों में लागू किया गया था। इस सफल प्रयोग के आधार पर वर्ष 2005-06 में “Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms” योजना शुरू की गई, जो वर्तमान में देश के सैकड़ों ग्रामीण जिलों में संचालित है।
ATMA का मुख्य उद्देश्य किसानों तक नई कृषि तकनीकों, वैज्ञानिक खेती के तरीकों और सरकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी पहुंचाना है। यह संस्था किसानों, कृषि वैज्ञानिकों और विभिन्न सरकारी विभागों के बीच समन्वय स्थापित कर कृषि विकास को बढ़ावा देती है।
