About Assam Public Service Commission (APSC)

Assam Public Service Commission की स्थापना 1 अप्रैल 1937 को Government of India Act, 1935 के प्रावधानों के अनुसार की गई थी। Commission के पहले Chairman Mr. James Hezelett थे, जो London के एक retired ICS officer थे। बाद में भारत के गणराज्य बनने के पश्चात Assam के Governor द्वारा Article 318 of the Constitution of India के अंतर्गत APSC Regulations 1951 लागू किए गए, जो 1 सितंबर 1951 से प्रभावी हुए।

APSC के गठन का मुख्य उद्देश्य Assam Government के विभिन्न विभागों के लिए योग्य और सक्षम उम्मीदवारों का चयन करना है। यह Commission राज्य की भर्ती प्रक्रिया को transparent, fair और merit-based तरीके से संचालित करता है।

Constitutional Status of APSC

APSC एक constitutional body है, जिसकी व्यवस्था भारत के संविधान के Part XIV, Chapter II में दी गई है। Commission के Chairman और Members की नियुक्ति राज्यपाल द्वारा की जाती है।

Chairman या Member का कार्यकाल 6 वर्ष या 62 वर्ष की आयु तक, जो पहले हो, तक रहता है।

Functions and Responsibilities of APSC

APSC की मुख्य जिम्मेदारियां निम्नलिखित हैं:
